okay so ive taken dance for a long time like 11 years but recently stopped and i really want to take it up again because its something i might want to pursue in the Futur, every dance school ive looked up has looked all about recitals and im not interested in that. is there somewhere else i should look or should i just wait until college classes?

Are you going to college soon? You could start looking at colleges that have dance programs. You can find out what sort of study those colleges recommend. They might even recommend teachers or schools that are in your area.

What sort of dance interests you? Do you attend dance performances? Many dancers will list the places they study in their professional biographies. If you're going to performances that can be a way to find a dance school that caters to a more professional kind of study.

Dancemagazine.com, the website for Dance Magazine, has a directory of dance schools in the United States. Take a look. I think there's even a directory of colleges with dance programs.

I was a professional dancer for many years. I grew up in Minnesota and moved to New York City to attend college and pursue a career.

I'm new at hip hop dancing (I've only been doing it since October) and I love it. The only problem is that every time we have a class we learn a whole bunch of different dances and we only know part of our recital dance. Our recital is in six months and half of the moves our dance teacher it teaching us I can't do because I have problems with my back. If we don't get the dance down flat in one class our teacher gets fustrated. I want to know, is this normal for a dance school to do and should I quit and go to a different school?

look i m taking dancing lessons since i was 5 i take hip hop lessons too though i hate hip hop music the dance is cool!!
the lesson is always that way i mean during the lesson u do many things they don't only concentrate on the recital only when u r one or two months away….so chill out…now bout ur teacher…
have u told him/her bout this problem that u have n that u cant make all the moves if yes then he/she doesn't know how to teach well if no then u should talk to him /her

The Undecided School is made up of guitarist/vocalist Tom Whyte, bassist Kieran Furey, and drummer Marc Davies. ================================================= Tom started off as a writer and performer of acoustic songs, with Dylan, Woody Guthrie and others as his guides.
