what are some good dance schools or colleges in california?
I am going to be a senior in high school and I really want to dance professionally. I’m going to be 17. I don’t have a lot of dance experience but I absolutely LOVE dancing and I am willing to get better just to go to a school for it. I want to know what schools are in CA and will they accept me if I am a okay/good dance and want to become a professional? I love dancing so much!
Hi Dani! I had a roommate last year that’s mother owned a dance school and my response to your question is: is there a certain area in California that you want to practice? If you do (or even don’t) check out California College Search. From here you can look at colleges by zip code or city, type or name of the college, or by the degree, dance, you would like to go into. When you find a college(s) you are interested in fill out the corresponding form and they will send you free information about their program, price, etc. Good Luck!

For colleges: you must audition for the dance department in order to major or minor in dance at any college. You will need to be accepted into the school academically too.
Realize that most dancers already have years of training at the age of 17. My daughter is a dance major in college. It is a tough audition and the program takes a lot of work and talent.
Make sure you know audition dates for the college.
